This is a simple book with very few words...great for a reader who is just starting out, but the message is a great one. And it is presented in such a funny way! Worth checking out.

As a a former elementary school teacher, current mom, children's library frequenter, and kid at heart, I can truly appreciate a good picture book. My purpose in this blog is to share with you the treasures I find in my everyday encounters with children's literature.

your site is one my favorites I've ever stumbled upon (in the realm of probably 3 or 4 other awesome, funky sites), and also really helpful--I'm an art education major in my senior year right now, and I'm currently taking a course in writing and illustrating picture books. I've been drawing upon my own experiences, but I just recently remembered stumbling on your site last year, and I was quite happy to find it again.

Update on Mo Willems' Gerald and Piggie books: I love them all! My five-year-old daughter and I have discovered the whole series at the library and have checked them out on multiple occasions. She enjoys reading them herself because the words are simple, but the stories are not at all boring and she reads them with such expression!
